Psalm 150:4-5“ Praise Him with stringed instruments and pipe. Praise Him with loud cymbals.”
I first heard of Ketly and Vital Pierre through International Ministries.org in 2009. For three years consecutively I have been going to Bluefields, Nicaragua to serve in the music ministry at the First Baptist Church of Bluefields. It has been a great honor serving God overseas.
I have spent three summers in Nicaragua teaching instrumental music and music theory. During the summers of 2009 and 2010, my focus was to teach guitar, piano, violin and recorders to people of different ages. With both years combined, I have taught more than 35 students. Praise God!
In the summer of 2011 at the request of Pastor Vital, I was asked to help create a music school at his church. I prayed and asked God to give me wisdom to train four marvelous and gifted musicians from Haiti, Jonas, Daniel, Gethro, and Venelson, who were going to become the lead music teachers at the music school. After the first two weeks of major planning, teaching workshops, and writing down the rules and the Mission Statement for the music school, we were ready to teach. Bethel Music Institute was inaugurated on Monday, August 8th, 2011. It was an instant success as there was a wave of students going in for music lessons.
We are praying that more people will be inspired to go and serve in the music ministry at the First Baptist Church of Bluefields. A great deal more work still need to be done, such as gifting the church with new instruments, other music resources and accessories. If you have a passion for music and feel called to serve God in Bluefields, go and remember that He is already ahead of you. When we continue to pray faithfully, wonderful things will happen.
Blessings,
